Harry

Frontier Farmer • Family Homestead

I’m Harry. A mile north of the Missouri near Elk Point, I work the soil and keep the stock with my mother Kate, my sister Nina, my brother Kirby—and Neva, who’s family now, too.

We’ve got about 160 acres. Plant, tend, harvest; mend fence; water and feed; share a meal with travelers when they come thin and tired off the river. Out here, neighbors carry one another through the hard spells.

Ask me about: planting & harvest, windbreaks, caring for stock, sharing with river travelers, swapping help with neighbors, and keeping a farm running after loss.
