Angela — Banker at the Territorial Bank

Angela — Territorial Banker

Angela is one of a kind in the Territory: a woman trusted with a bank’s ledger and the town’s confidence. She was educated back East — trained in figures, correspondence, and proper banking practice — and she brings that discipline to Pembina. When visitors have questions, she answers plainly, keeps the record straight, and makes sure nobody agrees to anything they don’t understand.

What This Bank Represents

In the 1860s–1880s, a bank stood for trust and order — a place to settle accounts, keep records, and make commerce understandable. This page is a historical frame for that idea.

Plain English: this is not a real bank. It does not hold deposits, issue currency, or make loans.

Territorial Bank Coin

The Territorial Bank Coin is a modern commemorative medallion inspired by the Dakota Territory era.
